Steve Maginn
Stephen Maginn serves as President, SunAmerica Financial Group Distributors. In this position he has strategic responsibility for the sales and distribution efforts of all of the SunAmerica Financial Group product lines. Prior to being named to his current position in April 2012, he was Chief Distribution Officer for SunAmerica Retirement Markets and SunAmerica Mutual Funds.
Maginn previously served as Executive Vice President and Senior Managing Director, Sales for SunAmerica Retirement Markets, where he oversaw Internal and External Sales and National Accounts.
Prior to joining SunAmerica, Maginn served for seven years as Managing Director of PIMCO Funds/Allianz Global Investors Distribution, where he was responsible for the key corporate product and distribution strategies that contributed to the rapid growth of PIMCO Funds in the retail and high net worth marketplace. During his time as head of U.S. sales, assets under management for PIMCO Funds grew from $8 billion to $125 billion.
Previously, Maginn held senior sales and sales management positions with G.T. Global Financial Services and Petro Lewis Securities, as well as retail and institutional sales roles with Merrill Lynch and A.G. Becker in New York. Steve is a veteran of the industry and has served on the National Board of Directors for the International Association for Financial Planning and Financial Planning Association (IAFP/FPA) from 1995-2000. He has also served on the Board of Trustees for the Foundation for Financial Planning since 2001.
Maginn is a graduate of The McIntire School of Commerce at The University of Virginia (1974). He resides in Los Angeles with his wife and four children.
