Mary Jane Fortin
Mary Jane Fortin is Chief Financial Officer of SunAmerica Financial Group. Before assuming her current role in April 2012,, Ms. Fortin was President and Chief Executive Officer of American General Life Companies. Prior to that, she served as Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, and Chief Financial Officer of American General. She joined American General in January 2006 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the capital management, risk management and financial management for American General. Prior to joining American General, Ms. Fortin was Senior Vice President and Director for The Hartford’s Mutual Funds and 529 Programs. Prior to assuming that role in 2002, she was Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer for Hartford Life, a division of The Hartford. She has also held positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Arthur Andersen LLP.
Ms. Fortin received a Master’s degree in business administration from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, where she majored in finance. She received her Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Magna Cum Laude, from University of Connecticut. She is a CPA.
